Stephen Whitelaw has spent his career immersed in the technology of the internet. Former CEO of Buchanan International and then Actis, he specialised in the "Dark side of the Web" providing security tools to international intelligence and police forces. Stephen combines an impressive start up history with a highly informed infectious enthusiasm. He has been at the cutting edge of the Web for over a decade, and has a deep understanding of its potential both good and bad.
Life without the internet is almost unimaginable today but it has come a long way in the last ten years, and its changing fast. As our use of Web 2.0 technologies becomes commonplace, a whole new world is opening up with concepts such as the semantic web, the internet of things (IoT) and the internet of services .
Stephen will explore what the next generation of the internet looks like, and how it will impact the way we do business, communicate and interact with customers, staff and users.
