The Chris Date Seminar
Venue: Edinburgh Training Centre, 16 St. Mary's Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1SU
Date: Thu 13 — Fri 14 May 2010
This important seminar is based closely on Mr Date's recent book of the
same name. This will be an exciting seminar for anyone already familiar
with SQL. Like it or loath it, SQL (structured query
language) is now the de facto standard for database access. But there
are many fundamental failings in SQL which make it a less than ideal
tool to access a relational database. Many of its design features
directly contradict relational theory, and so it is important that SQL
practitioners know where these weaknesses are.
