Venue: University of Edinburgh Business School, 29 Buccleuch Place, EH8 9JS

Date: Wed 11 Jan 2012

Pictured above talking to 90.9 WBUR about the Kendall Square Entrepreneurial Walk of Fame; @BillAulet is Managing Director of the MIT Entrepreneurship Center, whose mission is to educate and nurture the leaders who will make startup companies successful. Aulet, an alumnus of MIT Sloan, became a senior lecturer at the business school in 2005. In addition to his work in general innovation based entrepreneurship, he has had a focus on positioning MIT Sloan and its students for success in the clean energy sector.

In 2007, he was instrumental in creating the $200,000 MIT Clean Energy Prize. Two of the courses he teaches at MIT Sloan are Energy Ventures and Financing Energy Ventures, along with New Enterprises, the School's introductory entrepreneurship class. A business leader, Aulet has raised over $100 million in funding for his companies and directlycreated hundreds of millions of dollars of market value. He started his career with 11 years at IBM, culminating in being named a prestigious MIT Sloan Fellow.  Upon graduation in 1994, Aulet became a serial entrepreneur, running two MIT spinouts as the President and CEO of both Cambridge Decision Dynamics and then SensAble Technologies. He then co-led the dramatic turn around at Viisage Technologies as CFO in which its market value went from $50 million to $500 million in 2.5 years. The latter became a two-time Inc. Magazine 500 Fastest-Growing Private Company.

Bill has run many workshops in Scotland on Entrepreneurial Product Marketing, with Informatics Ventures and Highlands & Islands Enterprise. Due to popular demand and as specifically requested, this January Bill Aulet returns to explore "Inbound Marketing" in more depth.
