About ScotlandIS

ScotlandIS... smart, successful technology.

The trade body for the information and communications technologies (ICT) industry, ScotlandIS represents around 200 software, telecomms, IT and creative technologies businesses throughout Scotland.

Our remit is to raise the profile of the industry in Scotland, lobby policy makers on relevant issues and support our members in the development of business relationships with customers, suppliers and partner companies.
Members offer a broad range of professional services and skills to users in industry, commerce and the public sector. Many members are also internationally recognised and active in world export markets.

ScotlandIS has members across the breadth of the Scottish ICT Sector from global players to small highly specialist companies. The ICT sector in Scotland is one of our hidden assets, directly employing in excess of 20,000 people. Add to this indirect employment in IT departments the length and breadth of Scotland and that figure exceeds 40,000. This compares with the whisky industry (11,200), Textiles (27,000) and the electronics sector (41,000).
