The Robert Gordon University has earned a formidable reputation for its pragmatic approach to higher education in Scotland. For generations it has produced qualified professionals across a broad spectrum of careers. Over 8 000 students study over 145 full-time part-time and sandwich courses at undergraduate post-experience and postgraduate levels. Our courses enjoy national standing and are recognised by the professions with significant exemptions from further examination. Strong links with industry ensure that courses are constantly updated plus many are introduced as a direct response to changes in the marketplace. The university reflects its location in the Oil Capital of Europe through the partly industry funded Offshore Management Centre and a number of sectoral commercial activities. Within the University the IT Services Department manages the Campus-wide network of over 2 500 desktops providing for staff and students Internet services e-mail Office Software Business Systems and a range of applications used directly for course work. The University is actively deploying a Virtual Campus to provide students with a virtual learning space and to offer enhanced learning opportunities both for distance learning students and those based on the Campus
