Organisation Description
EPCC is the supercomputing centre based at The University of Edinburgh. Established in 1990, the organisation is one of Europe’s most successful supercomputing centres with a full time staff of 75. EPCC manages an unrivalled collection of High Performance Computing (HPC) systems including HPCx and HECToR, jointly worth some 170million pounds.
To capitalise on the power of its facilities, in 2009 EPCC launches the EPCC Industry Hub, a one-stop shop for industry and commerce that will give streamlined access to its supercomputing facilities on a pay-per-use basis as well as a range of HPC consulting services. The intention is that the Hub will significantly increase the HPC uptake by business at home and abroad.
The Industry Hub builds on 19 years experience of working with hundreds of companies, ranging from Scottish SMEs to blue-chip multinationals.
EPCC is also a leading provider of HPC training in Europe and offers a range of industry relevant courses.
