Amor Group Awarded Five Year Support Contract by Centrica Energy HRL
Gas control system is key to UK gas producer
Leading Scottish business technology solutions provider Amor Group has been awarded a £500,000 support contract by Centrica Energy Hydrocarbon Resources Ltd (HRL) for the gas control system (GCS) at its Barrow-in-Furness terminal.
The five-year contract is for round-the-clock on-site and remote support and maintenance of GCS, including Hydrocarbon+, Amor Group’s own hydrocarbon accounting solution, which was installed several years ago.
HRL is a subsidiary of UK-based energy group Centrica, operator of the offshore Morecambe gas fields as well as the gas processing terminals at Barrow-in-Furness.
The fields' combined remaining reserves are among the largest in the UK continental shelf and the terminal significantly contributes to UK gas production.
GCS is therefore critical to HRL’s operation and it requires a high performance support package.
Robert McSaveney, Amor Group’s Technical Director, said the new five-year contract was testament to the quality and level of support provided to HRL.

Hydrocarbon+ is a fully configurable end-to-end web-based solution that allows operators to accurately manage their hydrocarbon products plus all aspects of planning and reporting efficiently and cost effectively.
