Amor Group Secures Contract for Queue Measurement Solution at Oslo Airport
Scottish aviation IT solutions provider Amor Group has secured a contract with Oslo Airport AS to provide its innovative PAXTrax+ solution to measure queues at the airport.
The £200,000 contract for Oslo Airport AS will be delivered in conjunction with Amor Group’s new Bluetooth technology partner, BLIP Systems. Amor Group is widely recognised for its pioneering solutions to remove bottlenecks within airports and it is expected that the win will lead to further opportunities for new business within airports in the Scandinavian region. The PAXTrax+ software will be used in the airport’s security area and the wait times for each security lane will be displayed on a screen for passengers.
PAXTrax+ allows airports to check the queuing times at security check point area in real time, meaning an easier response to any trends – such as allocating extra staff if queues are growing and reducing those working if the numbers of passengers waiting are low. The data from PAXTrax+ will feed into Amor Group’s ResourcePlan+ software, which it already provides to Oslo Airport AS to help accurately forecasts passengers arriving and departing at the airport and passenger flows inside the passenger terminal.
The airport handles more than 18 million passengers each year.
Martin Bowman, Amor Group’s Transport Sales Director, said: “Oslo Airport AS is a key customer for Amor Group in Scandinavia and we are delighted they have added PAXTrax+ to the existing ResourcePlan+ solution which is already in operation at the airport. The key to successfully optimising resources in today’s rapidly changing environment is accurately forecasting passenger numbers and demand and we have developed world-class aviation solutions which can offer efficiency savings for operators. The implementation of PAXTrax+ will also allow the airport to better manage the expectations of passengers and improve the experience for them.”
Bjørn Erik Larsen, Contract Advisor Security at Oslo Airport AS, said: “We are pleased to be working with the Amor Group again, having previously chosen them to supply our forecasting system. We are always working to improve the experience for our customers, so this software will help us to make sure we have the right number of staff in our security areas and make the whole process quicker and smoother.”
Amor Group’s new partnership with Danish Bluetooth company BLIP Systems was launched at last month’s Passenger Terminal Expo in Brussels. The partnership combines Amor Group’s proven operational expertise in airports with BLIP System’s top class Bluetooth tracking capabilities.
