Amor Group appoints new public sector sales director
Leading global provider of business technology solutions, Amor Group, has appointed Andrew Green as Public Sector Sales Director.
Aberdeen and Glasgow-based Amor Group was established in May 2009 following a major management buyout and the group’s restructure to reflect its focus on four key sectors has prompted Andrew’s appointment.
He joins three other sales directors who are heading up teams driving sales to the energy, transport and managed services sectors as well as the public sector, which has already generated a number of significant contract wins for Amor Group.
The group recently opened a new office in Coventry, to service its growing public sector client base, many of which are based in the West Midlands.
This includes Ofqual, the regulator of qualifications, examinations and assessments in England, which recently awarded Amor Group a £3.9million contract. The major four-year deal will see Amor Group developing a regulatory IT system and providing ongoing technical support for Ofqual.
Andrew brings 20 years’ experience of selling to the public sector. Prior to joining Amor Group, he held a number of senior sales management and business development positions at Avanade, Steria and Oracle.
He said he was joining Amor Group at an exciting time.
“I am delighted to have joined Amor Group, where I will have responsibility for driving further public sector sales success,” said Andrew. “We have recently won a number of new contracts, including the £3.9million Ofqual deal, and we have also secured places on several key public sector procurement frameworks that will drive more work for us.
“We are continuing to go from strength to strength, and our new office in Coventry will also support the development of our expertise and client base in this area.
“This is also an exciting time to be working in the public sector as we see a real shift towards ‘cloud computing’ for public sector organisations, which will lead to IT services being purchased on demand, saving both money and resources, and our new data centre has the capacity to offer this to our clients.”
John Innes, Amor Group’s Chief Executive Officer, added: “We are pleased to welcome Andrew to the team. His market knowledge and proven track record in winning major contracts at UK public sector organisations will be an asset to the Amor Group.
“Andrew joins our team of sales directors, who will help us build a strong sales strategy and achieve our aim of becoming the leading global provider of business technology solutions to the energy, transport and public sectors, and ultimately doubling our revenue over the next few years.
“We already have a strong track record in the public sector, with key clients including the NHS, Scottish Government and the Welsh Assembly Government, and Andrew’s role will be to help us build and sustain partnerships with other organisations, as well as driving sales.”
Amor Group is a delivery partner to the public sector through a number of procurement frameworks, including the Learning and Skills Council, Buying Solutions Supplier and ESPO Home Care Monitoring and Rostering Solutions Framework, and existing major clients including the NHS, Scottish Government and the Welsh Assembly Government.
