Bloxx Lowers Total Cost of Ownership for Web Filtering at AAF Limited
Bloxx, the innovator in Web and email content filtering, today announced that AAF Limited, a leading supplier of air filtration solutions, is using Bloxx Web filtering to monitor and manage Internet browsing activity of over 150 staff. Powered by Tru-View Technology real-time categorisation engine, the company is protecting staff from offensive or productivity-draining Web content whilst limiting the risk to the network and safeguarding the reputation of the company.
The company installed a Bloxx 250W Web Filter at the end of 2010 and has been reaping the rewards ever since. Steve Porritt, Network & Database Administrator at AAF Limited adds, “As a multi-national organisation, the Internet is a critical business tool that our staff use every day. Bloxx Web filtering ensures that they were fully protected from the nasty stuff on the Web. We have more functionality in an appliance that is easier to maintain and cheaper to run than our previous solution from Websense.”
With an appliance-based Web filtering solution, the company has even more control over the Web filtering. Porritt explains, “We have created groups containing staff with different Internet access needs and to ensure compliance we consult the reports and logs regularly to address potential misuses of Internet access by individuals. Overall our staff are happy as we can quickly block or recategorise sites, which cuts down on help desk time and reduces staff frustration.”
Porritt concludes, “We have significantly lowered our total cost of ownership of Web filtering with Bloxx as our three year deal for the 250W appliance is significantly lower than the subscription renewal from our previous Web filtering supplier and we have saved man hours due to the easy configuration, management and maintenance of the Bloxx Web Filter.”
