Charities could win-win with e-cards this Christmas
Charities could be in a win-win situation if they go for e-cards instead of traditional Christmas cards this year.
David Johnstone, Sales Director with web design and on online marketing specialist Alienation Digital predicts an explosion in demand for e-cards this Christmas.
He said: “We expect to see a ten-fold increase in the number e-cards which are sent this year, and that creates huge opportunities for charities.
“Not only can they save money on their own Christmas card spend, they should be encouraging businesses that support them to include a donation link on e-cards they send.”
The Children’s Hospice Association Scotland was one of dozens of charities and businesses like financial advisors, St James’s Place who sent Alienation Digital e-cards last Christmas.
Johnstone added: “E-cards save money, time and trees and they are so simple to use. Clients pick a static or animated design, send us their logo and address list and we do the rest.
“Compare that with the time and money involved in buying and posting traditional cards, not to mention the hours spent signing them all.
“Branded e-cards start at £150 and for around £350 we will send them to a charity’s database, regardless of the number of cards involved.
“Charities can put a donation link on their cards, while businesses can put a link to their favourite charity or include one that allows their client to nominate the charity of their choice, via The Big Give.”
