Craneware scoops new £1m contract

Four year deal with existing customer

Scots healthcare software firm Craneware has won a new contract worth $1.5 million with an American customer.

The Livingston-based company – which specialises in billing and auditing software for the US healthcare industry – has struck a four-year deal with a long-standing hospital.

The firm’s Supplies ChargeLink software package automates the manual processes still used in the majority of U.S. hospitals.

Keith Nelson, chief executive of Craneware, said this is the largest contract signed to date for that software and adds to the company’s sales momentum.

"This is a significant deal for us, validating our recent investment into both product development and our sales team.

"We believe our solutions such as Supplies ChargeLink are uniquely positioned to address a growing requirement within the U.S. healthcare industry for increased efficiencies, whilst managing mounting levels of compliance risk.

"We continue to focus on the execution of our growth strategy and are confident in our ongoing success."

Earlier this month Craneware - which was set up in 1999 – revealed a 24 per cent rise in pre-tax profits to more than £4.5 million.

The company – which employs a workforce of 140 - reported a record year, with sales increasing 34 per cent to £37.5 million.

The firm has its headquarters in Livingston, West Lothian, with offices in Atlanta and Arizona.
