Deadline approaching fast for DALLAS, the assisted living R&D programme
DALLAS is a £23 million programme launched by the Technology Strategy Board alongside the National Institute for Health Research, the Scottish Government, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, and Scottish Enterprise. The programme is 100% public funded and aims to help grow the UK Assisted Living sector by providing opportunities and support to the UK’s leading technology companies. System specifications are yet to be defined, making this a unique opportunity for companies to influence the requirements and functionality of the final solution.
DALLAS is an open competition; Succesful projects will receive 100% funding, and keep the IP.
Anticipated expertise is in the following areas:
- Remote health and lifestyle monitoring;
- Data Integration;
- Costed Business Process Modelling;
- Organizational Development; Social Isolation;
- Contact Centres;
- Project Management;
- Records Management;
- User-led Design;
- Mobile Technology;
- Real-time Communications;
- Multi-function devices.

The DALLAS project will establish 3 to 5 communities of 10,000 homes across the UK – at least one of which will be located in Scotland. These communities will showcase how assisted living technologies can promote well being and independence by supporting those living with long term health conditions.
