Dundee student lifts coveted award !
Ann Budge & Yasmeen AhmadA talented student from the University of Dundee has been named Young Software Engineer of the Year. Yasmeen Ahmad won first prize in the Young Software Engineer awards for her exceptional project which enables complex data modelling at the cutting edge of life sciences development.
Bill Milne & Adam WilsonFrom Mobile Phone shop Manager to expert systems for Intensive Care. The second prize went to Adam Wilson, from the University of Aberdeen for his expert system developed to support improved decision making in Intensive Care Units.
Both the first and second prizes were for projects with practical applications in the fields of medicine and biotechnology.
Graeme Russell & Aydin Kurt ElliThe third prize was awarded to Graham Russell of the University of Strathclyde, and the special category, the Real Time Engineering award, was won by Neil Jack of Heriot Watt University.Graeme’s project set out to tackle the issue of bad software design, and Neil’s project demonstrated the characteristics of mobile applications that can be deployed across a number of computers on a network and move from computer to computer, using the popular game “snake” to demonstrate how this works.
