IFB wins new contract with AECC
Leading Scottish internet service provider, Internet for Business (IFB) has secured a contract renewal worth £60k from Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC). This three year contract extension represents the third renewal for IFB and sees it entering its seventh consecutive year working with the city venue.
IFB will provide fully managed and comprehensive wireless and wired Internet access across the AECC site, including in areas for staff, visitors, exhibitors and delegates. The contract also covers the design and support for larger events, such as Offshore Europe 2011, where IFB will work closely with the AECC team and event organisers to provide business class services across the venue.
AECC, Aberdeen with IFB's branding on the tower
Set to open its new state-of-the-art data centre in Aberdeen
imminently, IFB has also revealed it is about to undertake a significant
recruitment drive to boost its numbers in both the central belt and the
Northeast of Scotland offices. This forthcoming expansion will tie in
with the opening of the £10 million high specification data centre which
will act as a new headquarters as well as housing business continuity
suites specifically for IFB clients.
Operations Director of IFB Graeme Gordon says, “It is incredibly satisfying to secure this contract once again with AECC after working with them for such a long period of time. We have developed a close and strong relationship with the AECC team and worked with them to modify, adjust and improve the technical and commercial services offered. Most recently this includes the introduction of branded AECC scratch cards to provide an additional and easy method of accessing the WiFi network for visitors.
“We have also extended our relationship with AECC as the new sponsor of the AECC’s Northern Lights Tower, which will provide our business with prominent positioning and increased brand awareness to local residents and international business and leisure visitors to the city.” Read on ....
