IFB’sBackup and Recovery Success Grows
Scotland’s first choice digital communications company, IFB has introduced a new Backup and Recovery service which has proven highly attractive with new client orders being added continually.
This new state of the art, high capacity system removes the need for IFB’s clients to invest in proprietary and expensive data backup models and introduces a much more flexible service. This service conforms to the most demanding and stringent of compliance standards, operated and managed by IFB from its Number 1 Aberdeen Data Centre.
Graeme Gordon, Operations Director, at IFB said: "Since the introduction of our new Backup and Recovery service we have been able to expand our client base in this key and demanding market. We can now offer hundreds of terabytes of data storage and retrieval to and from disc and tape for our clients who are in total control of their own backups via an online interface.. Our first customers went live on the new service during December 2008 and it is already handling key business data for nearly 50 UK businesses.”
“The shift in economic climate has also prompted many businesses to look again at how they manage their key IT spend, especially with regards to data added Graeme. This includes how businesses store and manage data through to the true risk and cost of key data becoming unavailable for whatever reason. Our service has been designed to offer secure, accessible and resilient data storage and retrieval facilities to companies and organisations regardless of their scale.”
IFB Backup and Recovery is supported by leading industry partners CommVault and Quantum and provides a highly scalable, secure and resilient platform where clients pay a fixed fee per attached server and a flexible annual amount based on the amount of data held and stored on the system. Daily backups are performed automatically and tapes stored off site under contract with industry recognised Iron Mountain.
