Net Resources to design new website for Scapa Flow
Net Resources, the Edinburgh-based web design agency, is delighted to announce that they have been appointed to design and build a new interactive, CMS website for the Scapa Flow Landscape Partnership Scheme in Orkney (SFLPS).
The SFLPS, led by Orkney Islands Council, Scottish Natural Heritage and the RSPB, (plus 80 other organisations and individuals), is a three year project, with funding of over £2 million to deliver 48 projects aimed at conserving, enhancing and promoting the Scapa Flow area.
Net Resources will be working closely with the project team in Stromness to build a multi-layered, interactive site delivering a rich media experience of the cultural, natural and historical heritage of the area. Key themes of access, biodiversity, education and research will be woven in with projects focused on the Landscapes of War, Landscapes of Peace, Natural Landscapes and Celebration & Communication.
Promoting the Scapa Flow heritage and area to the wider Scottish, national and international community is vital, but the site also aims to encourage local people and visitors to get involved in a wide range of activities, reaching out particularly to those prone to exclusion.
Sara Dodd of Net Resources says, ‘We were delighted to make it through a fiercely competitive tender process to win this project. Our team has a great affinity and love for Orkney; the archaeology, history and beauty of the area, and we are hugely looking forward to working the SFLPS to create an exciting new site.'
