Future Internet Systems TIC ? What are your views?
The Technology Strategy Board is currently considering a number of candidate Technology and Innovation Centres (TICs) for potential significant investment. One of these relates to Future Internet Systems and was the subject of an orientation workshop held in London on July 7.
ScotlandIS members are invited to participate in the next stage of the consultation process which is to address the business case for such a TIC.
Based on the consultation so far, the Technology Strategy Board has refined the scope of a Future Internet Systems TIC to potentially include the following areas of focus:
- Data and information networking, semantics and analytics
- Communication
- Security, privacy, trust and resilience
- Sensors, machine 2 machine and “internet of things”
- Digital services
As the next stage of the consultation process, a Business Case Questionnaire has been compiled which can be accessed here, to which you are strongly encouraged to respond before the deadline of September 15.
The TSB have stressed the importance of obtaining as wide a response to this questionnaire as possible, so your views are important.
Depending on the responses received, the Technology Strategy Board may organise a Workshop in the autumn to take forward the discussion on the Business Case with those who complete the survey.
You are also invited to comment on the detail of the Technology Strategy Board scope through a discussion group on _connect.. You can do so here. (Please note that you must be a member of the _connect group to do this.
