Edinburgh PR Agency Demonstrates Exceptional Environmental Performance
Edinburgh-based PHPR Ltd, an on and offline PR agency specialising in B2B and IT clients, has been recognised for "demonstrating exceptional environmental performance" by multiple agencies and the Scottish government at the VIBES 2009 awards: Scotland's top environmental awards for business.
PHPR MD, Penny Haywood Calder said, "We are delighted that our efforts have been recognised as we have been "reducing, re-using and re-cycling" since 1986. Until we entered the VIBES awards last year, we hadn’t fully realised how to quantify the savings we were making from our activities. The judges’ feedback last year showed us the way forward, and this year our entry was rewarded with a certificate stating that we are demonstrating exceptional environmental performance.
"Now I want to persuade IT companies in Scotland to become more environmentally proactive because it's reported that the carbon footprint of the IT industry as a whole is larger than the aviation industry. I believe the VIBES awards are particularly useful because they focus on the business case. The savings from improving environmental performance go straight onto the bottom line. That way, every VIBES entrant wins, by saving money and getting expert advice on how to do more. Plus excellent recognition of their efforts if they are shortlisted or win."
"We had a direct request for a new business meeting at the awards ceremony itself, plus another four meeting requests as a result of our publicising efforts. Proof positive that green awards are good for business."
