Technology Transfer Opportunity Mechanism
-
TTOM Awards are to encourage then enable Scottish SMEs to transfer technology from Scotland’s Universities
TTOM aims to improve technology transfer between the SME base and Scotland’s Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in a range of high growth markets, associated with new technology development. The aim is to enable technology transfer projects by offering grants to support feasibility studies, particularly with a cross-sectoral and inter-disciplinary focus.
TTOM encompasses emerging technologies in sectors such as Energy, Life Science, Digital Media, Enabling Technologies (including optoelectronics, electronics, microelectronics and software) and Sustainable Transport.
TTOM Awards will be paid directly to eligible SME companies on a competitive basis, who will then contract with relevant research groups in higher education institutes to provide the assistance required. The maximum level of grant will be £5000, paid at a maximum rate of 75%, with the remaining 25% being cash or in-kind contributions from the client company. Support in finding appropriate academic expertise will be provided by Interface.
