Population ageing poses profound challenges to healthcare models around Euro­pe. Digital innovations are recognised as a key in today’s healthcare to address patients’ needs and remain effective in the face of rising costs and shrinking re­sources. The use of new technologies is transforming our approach to health and care. Both Estonia and Scotland have been in the forefront in developing rich eHealth ecosystem that covers local and national needs. This seminar, organised by the Estonian Embassy to the UK in cooperation with the Scottish Government and European Commission Office in Scotland, is aimed at the sharing of knowled­ge, experience and best practices.

10:00am  Estonian eHealth System by Artur Novek, Implementation Man­ager and Architect

- Real-life demo of Estonian Patient portal;

- Building blocks of Estonian information infrastructure based on unified digital identity and unified digital solutions;

- Connecting various healthcare providers from private and public sector to one countrywide eHealth platform; services running on top of the platform;

- Application of policy and technical solutions to ensure the security of health data and the protection of patients’ privacy;
