ScotlandIS News | 06.12.2018
We encourage all ScotlandIS members having difficulties recruiting for certain skill sets and roles to respond to a call for evidence from the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC).
The MAC is advising the UK Government on migration issues and is currently reviewing the Shortage Occupation List (SOL). This list includes certain job titles and occupations that are in shortage either across the UK or in Scotland only. If you want to recruit non-EU national for job titles that are on the list, the process for securing a visa is simplified.
The MAC is now reviewing which jobs should be on this list in the future and wants to hear from businesses about their recruitment difficulties. Please participate in this survey until 6th of January 2019 to make sure that the digital technologies skills gap in Scotland is being reflected in future Shortage Occupation Lists: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/shortage-occupation-list-2018-call-for-evidence
If you have any questions about this call for evidence or any other immigration and skills policy topics, please contact our Research and Policy Manager, Svea Miesch, at email@example.com.
