Entertainment Stars back new National Platform to bring Scottish Communities together

Glasgow based software company Frog Systems has launched a new national community platform designed to signpost & connect citizens to all the support, care, groups, businesses and activities that are currently available in their local communities.

Frog is designed to provide easy access to all the key local information that people search for, grouped together by geographic area, whether it’s a support group, a part time job, someone to upholster a couch, or details about a concert or an exhibition.

Phil Worms CEO: “Data suggests that people want local information more than ever, with Google reporting that ‘near me’ searches have increased substantially over the past few years. When it comes to finding products, services and support, people expect technology to help them find what they need when they need it. Frog simply combines all of the services sought by people into one single easy to use platform, a one stop local shop.”

With isolation, loneliness and lack of fitness widely recognised across Scotland as major health issues, the provision of this information is of vital importance if the models of self-directed support and social prescribing are to be brought to life.

Nick Kuenssberg OBE, chairman of Frog Systems stated: “Every day sees the release of a new report calling for transformational change and investment in our communities to reduce isolation. We believe that a major starting point in tackling this issue is the promotion of the many support and activity-based groups already providing services within communities. Frog signposts and connects people to the information they are seeking at the point of need.”

One unique feature of Frog is the Champions Cinema, an online channel where people can share their personal stories and experiences in 60 second videos. From breaking addiction, living with long term illness to coping with workplace stress, Frog’s Champions Cinema visibly demonstrates that we are not alone in overcoming life’s challenges.

Its ambition has resonated with music legends Nile Rodgers and Midge Ure, and actor, comedian and writer Sanjeev Kohli, who having experienced their own personal challenges; have recorded videos for the Champions Cinema. The Champion’s Cinema launches with over 350 videos featuring survivors, veterans, ex-offenders and group organisers amongst many others telling their stories.

Businesses across Scotland are now invited to add their details to the platform, either online at www.frog.net or by calling 0300 124 6868.
