At our next marketing meetup we’re delighted to have George Francis, Account Director at Clark Communications join us to share his tips and tricks for engaging journalists and cutting through the noise.
PR has undergone significant transformations in recent years, driven largely by the rapid evolution of digital media, a huge reduction in media budgets and, subsequently, the number of journalists working and changing audience expectations. Traditional PR strategies, once dominated by press releases and media outreach, have expanded to include social media engagement, influencer partnerships, and content marketing.
The rise of data analytics has enabled us to measure the impact of our campaigns more precisely and adjust strategies based on real-time feedback. As a result, modern PR is more dynamic, data-driven, and integrated with broader marketing efforts, making it a crucial component of any comprehensive communication strategy.
George will be talking to us about:
- Knowing your audience and developing a message
- Telling your story
- Introducing the journalist – who they are and what they want
- Putting you in the spotlight – some top tips for getting the most out of an interview
You’ll then have a chance to put your questions to George before we open up the floor to the group, to discuss sales and marketing challenges we face, and share solutions. There will be networking before and after the meeting with coffee and biscuits provided.
As ever this is a safe and confidential space and a great opportunity for us to share our experience and knowledge together.
Limited places are available, so make sure to secure your spot now – book your free ticket below.

We know how important taking a break from your laptop is for your physical and mental health, and some of the best ideas and brainstorming can happen on the move.

Is your business involved in data processing or do you have solutions to help others to decarbonise their operations?
In 2021, the Scottish Government launched the Green Datacentres and Digital Connectivity Vision and Action Plan.. This plan outlines steps to make Scotland a leading zero-carbon, cost-effective green data hosting hub, contributing to the goal of net zero emissions by 2045. The initiative aims to develop a range of datacentres, from edge and co-location to hyperscale facilities, with increased capacity and a skilled workforce.
Join our round table with Scottish Enterprise and Scottish Government representatives and give your feedback/insights on:
- AI and high performance computing workloads, help us inform our support service to help green those operations. We are seeking pathfinder companies willing to explore what could be possible and share learning experiences.
- Understand how companies evaluate their carbon footprint of their digital operations today across scopes 1, 2 and 3 (What are Scopes 1, 2 and 3 Emissions? (greenly.earth)). We additionally want to explore ways to support you in reducing this.
- Understand how the ScotlandIS membership can help others decarbonise their digital operations.

*Please note this online roundtable is for ScotlandIS members only*
