CGI on lookout for more Scottish offices after capital launch

Canadian technology firm CGI is looking to open more offices in Scotland in addition to the four now in operation.

The company officially launched its new £6 million branch in George Street, Edinburgh following its move from Edinburgh Park.

It has taken 9,529 sq ft of space on a 10-year lease with the capacity for up to 250 staff developing new technologies in augmented reality used in schools, property inspection and other activities.

Tara McGeehan, president of CGI’s UK operations, said: “Our Edinburgh office represents a significant investment in our Scotland business unit. It highlights CGI’s determination to grow its presence further in the Scottish capital and beyond.”

Lindsay McGranaghan, who was appointed business unit leader in Scotland earlier this month, said Edinburgh was a “key component” in the company’s plans.
