Cyber security projects selected for Market Validation stage

Academic teams progress commercialisation plans through CyberASAP

Designed to provide a comprehensive package of support to academic teams looking to commercialise their cyber security ideas, CyberASAP has whittled down the number of teams participating in this year’s programme from 28 to 20.

A team of independent assessors based their selection decisions on the strength of the teams’ Value Propositions – a key part of Phase 1 of the programme. The following teams now progress to the Market Validation stage, which includes a Meet the Entrepreneur Day – a chance to draw on the insights of individuals who have successfully developed start-up businesses; something which CyberASAP aims to equip these teams to do:

A Tamper Guard and Intrusion Monitor using Zenneck Electromagnetic Surface-waves | University of Bristol
AI-Driven Secured Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (AI-DRIVEs) | University of Nottingham

Once the Market Validation phase is complete, a further selection process takes place, with the final teams moving to Stage 2 of the programme where they develop their proof of concept.

This is year 4 of the CyberASAP programme, funded by the UK Government Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport and delivered through Innovate UK and KTN. Programme Directors are Emma Fadlon and Robin Kennedy. Find out more about the programme and how you could get involved here.
