Cyber Trade Mission to Tokyo

The British Embassy Tokyo, in association with the Department for Business & Trade’s Defence and Security Exports (DSE), invites you to join a trade mission to engage with stakeholders in Japan’s cyber ecosystem and identify potential business opportunities.

At the G7 Summit in May, Prime Ministers Kishida and Sunak agreed the historic Hiroshima Accord, which included a UK-Japan Cyber Partnership, providing a platform for cooperation to address ever
increasing cyber threats and to enhance resilience.

The Government of Japan is undergoing a major reform of its cybersecurity governance, including the establishment of a new Cyber Control Tower to comprehensively coordinate Japan’s cybersecurity policy, and introduced its intent for ‘Active Cyber Defence’ in its recent National Security Strategy. These changes, alongside acceleration of digitalisation, global conflicts and numerous major cyber-attacks on Japanese government and industry, are driving Japan to become more cyber secure and
resilient.

In response to these trends and policy changes, the British Embassy Tokyo and DSE will be organising a cyber-security trade mission of up to 10 companies to Japan to introduce UK cyber security capabilities.
Capability areas include threat intelligence, risk assessment, security solutions and incident response, underpinned by effective training and education. The target audiences will span government, defence
and industry. The mission will be led by Juliette Wilcox, UK DSE Cyber Ambassador, which will facilitate engagement with key Japanese cyber stakeholders and mission delegates, and coincides with Japan’s Cyber Awareness month.
