“Empowering Women to Lead…” Programs Convene in Edinburgh

“Empowering Women to Lead Digital Transformation” and “Empowering Women to Lead Cyber Security”, the cross-sector initiatives which launched last year with the backing of ScotlandIS, The Scottish Government and Scottish Digital Academy, have gathered the participants of their latest cohorts in Edinburgh this week for four days of intensive group workshops.

The “Empowering Women to Lead”… programs, developed and delivered by digital industry leadership specialists Empowering-You, have now completed five cohorts of their innovative programs, bringing together over 100 aspiring female digital leaders from a broad variety of digital disciplines and organisations, ranging from financial services, law, energy and digital consultancy, through to central government agencies, health bodies, academia and local government.

This week’s group sessions have also presented an invaluable opportunity for the current participants on the program to hear from guest speakers sharing their own personal leadership journeys and the key lessons they have learned along the way. Speakers this week have included The Scottish Government’s Head of Cyber Resilience, Clare el-Azebbi, Sopra Steria’s Director of Citizen and Devolved Government Service, Mags Moore, the Chief Executive of the Scottish Business Resilience Centre (SBRC), Jude McCorry and the Data Driven Innovation Institute’s Programme Lead for the DDI Skills Gateway, Alison Muckersie.

The Spring cohort, which commenced in March, is now coming to a close, with the current crop of aspiring leaders graduating at a gala ceremony on the 22nd of June. As with previous cohorts, the Spring ’22 program has attracted the support of a diverse range of industry partners including the Cyber Scotland Partnership, the Data Driven Innovation (DDI) Institute, Exception, Iomart, Lloyds Banking Group, Morgan Stanley, Quorum Cyber and Sopra Steria.

The “Empowering Women to Lead…” initiative will be running further Digital Transformation and Cyber Security programs for Scotland in the Autumn, with a national call for applications to the free program due to launch in the coming weeks. Following interest from other regions across the UK, Empowering You have also announced that the Empowering Women to Lead Cyber Security program will also be running in London & Southern England, Northern England, Northern Ireland and Wales this Autumn, alongside the established Scottish programs.

Further dates and details for the Autumn programs will be released in the coming weeks and more information can be found at  Home | Empowering You (empowering-you.co.uk).
