Cut through the techno-jargon and learn the fundamentals of distributed ledger technology / blockchain.
You will be hands-on building a blockchain using physical props like playing cards. Don’t worry, we will not ask you to gamble anything, just learn!
Blockchain technologies are often shrouded in mystery, or complicated mathematics or jargon. During the workshop we will use playing cards to dispel the complexities of and learn about:
- Hashing
- Encoding
- Sequencing
- Chaining
- Replication
- Restoration
- Integrity
- Distributed cooperation
The only mathematics will be a little bit of multiplication – the use of calculators is permitted and encouraged!
If you are fairly new to technology, this workshop will give you insight into some fundamental concepts. If you are an expert computer scientist or mathematician this workshop will allow you to see past the technology and maths and glimpse the potential business opportunities it can create.
