20aug9:30 am11:00 amRoundtable discussion on Data Adequacy and Brexit

Event Details

This roundtable is by invite only.

While attention has understandably been diverted to the global pandemic, the end of the Brexit transition agreement remains the 31st December 2020. This has significant implications for companies who collect, process or transfer data out with the UK. Data adequacy negotiations between the UK and EU governments are currently ongoing.

ScotlandIS has been working at both a Scottish and UK Government level to ensure that the voice of the industry is heard as these negotiations take place and that appropriate guidance is available to the sector.

This session will open with an update from Government on the status of current negotiations and any applicable guidance that has been issued. Martin Sloan of Brodies LLP will then give a brief overview of who is impacted, the legal implications and the changes companies may need to make, prior to opening the floor for discussion.
