Gender Diversity in Tech Leadership Takes Centre Stage

A new leadership programme for inspirational women leaders in tech gathers its participants for the first time this month.

The “Empowering Women to Lead Digital Transformation” Programme launched its call for applications to join the first cohort of participants in January amidst a backdrop of vocal support from industry and government.

The new initiative, delivered by leadership coaching consultants Empowering-You and supported by industry body ScotlandIS, The Scottish Government and the Scottish Digital Academy, aims to build a collaborative and powerful community of emerging women leaders in digital transformation roles across all industry sectors. The 3-month Programme is free of charge to participants, with funding provided from industry partners including Deloitte, Head Resourcing, PDMS and Sopra Steria with the first cohort of 19 aspirational digital leaders including representatives from local and central government, financial services, health, consulting and a range of digital solution providers.

The group will gather virtually for their first live workshop on Thursday (22nd April), providing an opportunity for the cohort to meet their fellow participants and get to grips with the “Challenges” that have been identified for the cohort to address as part of the Programme.

The session will also include a presentation from industry speaker Mags Moore, Sopra Steria’s Director of Citizen and Devolved Government Services, who will be providing some first hand perspectives on her own personal leadership journey.

Commenting on Sopra Steria’s support for the Programme, Ms Moore said “Sopra Steria is thrilled to support ‘Empowering Women to Lead Digital Transformation’, a proactive initiative to nurture female managers into confident, capable and motivated leaders.  This course will support participants to find their own authentic style of leadership and create an enduring support network. We are proud to continue supporting initiatives that inspire us in our professional and personal lives and help empower these leaders to make a real difference.”
