Leadership and Identity skills with Edinburgh Napier and Women into Tech

If you are a current or aspiring leader working in technology in Scotland who identifies as a woman, then the Edinburgh Napier University Leadership and Identity short course is designed for you.

This live online course runs over 3 separate days and is fully funded for this financial year (2021/22), so it’s the perfect time to apply.

The course provides an excellent networking opportunity while we explore identity as professional women in tech. You will learn about leadership styles and skills that are relevant to your context and can give you confidence to take that next step in your career.

This year, the course is offered in association with the Women into Tech project which aims to increase the number of women studying and staying in tech.

Previous participants have talked about how the course has helped to transform their careers. And how the interactive learning sessions have helped them gain insights from across the tech sector.

This module covers:

· Identity theories and theories of leadership: learn more about your sense of self in relation to well-established theories of identity; explore key theories of leadership and consider practical examples

· Find out how sense of self changes over time, for example during a transition to a new role or leadership role

· Developing leadership skills in your role: we’ll look at practical skills and consider how they might be applied in your workplace

· Leadership in context: our context for this course is women in technology. Barriers and opportunities will be explored and discussed.
