Scottish Tech Ecosystem Fund Supports New Leadership Initiative for Female Tech Founders

Empowering You, the leadership development specialists behind the award winning “Empowering Women to Lead Digital Transformation/Cyber Security” initiatives have received support from the Scottish Tech Ecosystem Fund to launch a new program, specifically designed to support female tech founders in developing their leadership capabilities.

Empowering Female Founders to Lead” is free of charge to all participants and accessed via an open application process which will run from the 16th of November to the 15th of December. Successful participants will then be selected from the applicants by an expert panel.

The program itself will run from January to March, including a combination of in-person group workshops, 1-1 coaching and “challenge” themed group project work, culminating in a graduation event in Edinburgh, where the participants will present the outputs of their work to an audience of peers from across the Scottish tech ecosystem.

The “Empowering Female Founders to Lead” program builds on the success of Empowering You’s previous initiatives, which have sought to address the challenge of low gender diversity levels across the tech professions and particularly within leadership roles. Those programs have resulted in the development of a growing network of over 200 empowered and empowering female professionals across the Scottish tech and InfoSec sectors in Scotland and the goal of this new initiative is to emulate that approach by fostering a similar community within the female tech entrepreneur eco-system.

Applications are encouraged from any woman who is either the founder of a tech company or in a principal leadership role (MD/CEO, etc.) for a start-up/scale-up tech business.

Full details on the program including content, timelines and methodology can be found at Empowering Female Founders to Lead | Empowering You (empowering-you.co.uk) along with details on how to apply.

ScotlandIS are proud to be an Ecosystem Partner and supporter of the ‘Empowering Female Founders to Lead’ program.
