The Edinburgh Technology and IT sector take part in the summer 2018 season of Business Fives

The Technology and IT sector have been very generous when it comes to charitable donations. In the last summer season the companies involved managed to raise over £2,000 for their chosen charities across Scotland.

Together with the continued support of ScotlandIS the qualifying event will take place in Edinburgh on Tuesday 31st July this summer. The Technology and IT event will third of eleven regional sector events across the Scotland for the summer 2018 season.

“We are pleased to once again be partnering with Business Fives we have no doubt that this will be another major success and a great opportunity for businesses to raise their profile, support a great cause and have some competitive fun!”

For a fifth season Business Fives have again committed to awarding the winning team with a bumper donation of 10 per cent from the event’s revenue to donate to their chosen charity.

For the first time in five seasons Business Fives, the five-a-side corporate events company, will give football-loving professionals in five Scottish cities a chance to compete for a place in the grand final on the 26th of September in Edinburgh. The eleven events will take place across Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee and Inverness.

Business Fives have worked with more than 400 companies and have supported charities across Scotland by raising over £43,000 since launching in 2016.

Business Fives boasts some famous ex-players and sporting celebrities as ambassadors including footballer former Rangers star and ex-SFA boss Gordon Smith, ex-Celtic star turned commentator Andy Walker, Hibs legend Pat Stanton, Hearts stalwart Gary Mackay, BBC Pundit Tam McManus along with TV presenter David Tanner.

Tournament founder and Business Fives managing director John McClarey – who also organised a highly-successful inaugural Business Fours golf tournament earlier this year – says “the events have proven to be a very big hit with the Technology & IT Sector and allows a wide range of job roles to come together on the football pitch and down tools for the afternoon.  We’ve been really impressed at the charitable efforts from the sector that has lived up to its reputation of having communities at the heart of their work. Given the mix of companies we’ve had involved it promises to be another good networking opportunity for the industry.”
