Why do you love working in tech?
I love working in the technology sector as it is full of people who are curious, positive about the future and passionate about their work.
What makes you excited in our industry?
I am excited about the positive impact digital tech is having in healthcare, education or environmental protection. It’s not just all about entertainment and business solutions but digital tech is making a real difference to peoples lives for example by allowing someone who is visually impaired to be more independent by using special smartphone apps and devices.
Where do you see the next big things?
There has been a lot of talk about machine learning and automation for a while but I think that this will now become part of the offering of more and more businesses and we will see it much more often in daily life.
What makes the industry a good place for women?
No matter what you are passionate about, be it science, social work or fashion, there will be companies working on digital tech solutions in that area, so the industry is very diverse and offers opportunities for everyone. The peer support network for women in tech is growing with meetups, mentoring, etc., salaries are well above average and many employers offer other benefits like flexible working, maternity and paternity pay and/or leave above the statutory minimum.
