ScotlandIS Member Spotlight: Brightridge Technology

In this Member Spotlight we hear from new Business member, Brightridge Technology, on their achievements over 25 years in business as a managed service provider, and why cyber security continues to be one of the biggest challenges facing all organisations.

Who is Brightridge Technology and what do you do?

Brightridge Technology is a Livingston-based Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP), supported by an Aberdeen-based team, delivering managed IT, cyber security, connectivity and business telephony services to organisations across Scotland and the UK.

We provide a joined-up approach to technology, bringing together IT support, communications, connectivity and cyber resilience within a single service model.

While SMEs make up much of our client base, we also support larger organisations looking for a responsive technology partner with security built into every service we deliver.

Tell us something unique or interesting about your organisation.

Brightridge combines cyber certification, remediation and ongoing managed support within one team – something still relatively uncommon in the market.

We are one of a small number of Certification Bodies in Scotland – in the single figures – able to deliver both Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus alongside in-house IT support and remediation services, enabling organisations to achieve, maintain and evidence compliance through a single provider. Our team includes an in-house Cyber Essentials Assessor who is also among the first to be recognised under the UK Cyber Security Council’s Associate Cyber Security Professional (ACSP) title, reflecting nationally recognised standards for technical capability, professionalism and ethical practice.

We are also accredited to provide IASME Cyber Assurance Levels 1 and 2, extending our support beyond technical controls to include policies, processes and people.

As an MSSP, we don’t just assess against standards – we help clients implement, manage and continuously strengthen their security posture in the real world.

That integrated approach, combined with AI-enabled monitoring capabilities, gives organisations greater visibility, stronger protection and increased control over their technology environment.

What is your biggest achievement as an organisation?

Achieving ISO/IEC 27001 certification was a major milestone for Brightridge, formally recognising our commitment to information security and operational best practice.

More recently, becoming an accredited Cyber Essentials and IASME Certification Body marked another significant step in strengthening our cyber security offering and supporting organisations with both compliance and practical resilience.

We’re particularly proud that, after nearly 25 years in business, our growth continues to be built on trusted relationships, long-term partnerships and evolving alongside our clients’ changing technology requirements.

What prompted you to become a member of ScotlandIS?

Joining ScotlandIS was a natural step as we continue to grow our presence within Scotland’s technology sector, including expanding our footprint into the north-east through our Aberdeen base.

We’re keen to connect with like-minded organisations, contribute to conversations around cyber security and digital resilience, and be part of a community helping shape the future of Scotland’s digital economy.

As an MSSP supporting organisations across multiple sectors, we also see real value in collaboration, knowledge sharing and raising awareness of the importance of proactive cyber security and managed services.

What do you see as the main challenges for the tech industry in the UK and Scotland?

Cyber security continues to be one of the biggest challenges facing organisations of all sizes, particularly now that cloud platforms, connected systems and digital services underpin day-to-day business operations.

AI is also rapidly reshaping the technology landscape. While it brings huge opportunities around efficiency, automation and threat detection, it is equally changing the nature of cyber risk – making attacks more sophisticated, scalable and harder to detect.

For many organisations, balancing innovation with security, compliance and skills shortages can feel overwhelming. Helping businesses adopt new technologies safely, while maintaining visibility and control over their environments, will be one of the industry’s biggest challenges over the coming years.
