ScotlandIS Member Spotlight: Silmaril Consulting

In this Member Spotlight we hear from new Startup member, Silmaril Consulting, on aiming to act as a beacon of clarity amidst the overwhelming AI hype, and on joining ScotlandIS to be at the heart of the digital community.

Who is Silmaril and what do you do?

We are end-to-end architects of the intelligent enterprise, helping businesses transition from manual drag to scalable, AI-augmented operations. We combine strategic AI readiness audits with deep technical engineering to drive both top-line revenue growth and bottom-line efficiency.

Whether it’s engineering custom AI orchestration engines and automated workflows, or selecting, deploying, and training your team on the best off-the-shelf tools, we ensure your business is fully equipped to leverage AI. Ultimately, we eliminate administrative bottlenecks so your team can focus on client acquisition, high-value strategy, and growth.

Tell us something unique or interesting about your organisation.

Our name is inspired by the legendary jewels from J.R.R. Tolkien’s lore that held pure, unmarred light. In an industry currently clouded by overwhelming AI hype and buzzwords, Silmaril was founded to act as that beacon of absolute clarity. We cut through the noise to show businesses exactly how to uncover the potential in their existing data and workflows, translating complex technology into clear, measurable commercial impact.

What is your biggest achievement as an organisation?

Our biggest achievement is successfully engineering the transition of legacy enterprises into high-performing, AI-augmented market leaders. A prime example is our recent pilot with a major restaurant group, where we eliminated manual friction to accelerate growth across their sales and marketing operations. We deployed custom automation that supercharged their sales cycle, delivering a 24-fold increase in lead sourcing speed and achieving an 11.4% cold outreach conversion rate, whilst simultaneously leveraging AI video generation for their marketing to slash asset production costs by over 80%.

What prompted you to become a member of ScotlandIS?

We joined because ScotlandIS is the heart of the digital community here, and we wanted to actively participate in that ecosystem. For us, it’s about collaboration rather than just commerce. As an organisation focused on practical AI, we see a brilliant opportunity to share what we’ve learned, help demystify the technology, and support other members in bridging the digital literacy gap.

The tech landscape is moving incredibly fast, and we believe the best way forward is together. We are really looking forward to getting involved in the knowledge-sharing platforms, connecting with peer innovators, and playing our part in helping Scottish businesses navigate the transition to AI safely, confidently, and successfully.

What do you see as the main challenges for the tech industry in the UK and Scotland?

The single greatest challenge facing our industry right now is moving past the initial AI hype cycle and transitioning into meaningful, strategic adoption. It is easy for organisations to get caught up in the excitement of new tools, but the real test lies in deploying AI in a way that is cost-efficient, low-risk, and delivers a measurably impactful return on investment.

Crucially, as a wider sector, we have to navigate this technological leap whilst balancing our aspirational growth targets with the needs of our people.
