Role Overview

ScotlandIS seeks to appoint an inspirational leader as CEO to drive positive and lasting growth for its members and the digital technologies industry in Scotland. As the public face of the organisation they will drive vision, strengthen influence and ensure we deliver value for our members, partners and the wider digital technology ecosystem of Scotland. The position requires an abundance of energy, great interpersonal skills, diligent attention to detail, and strong management and organisational abilities.

This is a fantastic chance to take on a new challenge, building on the organisation’s strong track record and lead it through a period of unparalleled opportunity. Heading in to 2026 we see changes in government, policy and technology shifts everywhere – ScotlandIS sits amidst this all, and our incoming
leader should be excited to leverage this for our members and community. As a skilled CEO, they will be tasked to develop, manage and build a dedicated team. They will provide a strong commercial focus, enabling both revenue growth and the expansion of current activities to provide greater benefits to members.

The successful candidate should have a comprehensive understanding of digital technologies and the business landscape. Experience and enthusiasm for community building is also desirable. In depth computer science and electronics knowledge is not a prerequisite for this role.

Excellent candidates will also come with a knowledge of Scotland’s policy landscape and economic priorities. Familiarity with skill development, digital inclusion as well as trade body and cluster management would be beneficial.

Requirements

  • A deep understanding of the digital technologies industry

ScotlandIS helped establish the DataLab, runs ePlacement Scotland and the Digital Skills Partnership, and was behind the creation of CodeClan. We organise over 40 events a year including Scotland’s largest technology conference, ScotSoft, and the Digital Technology Awards.
