Operational Technology is quickly becoming an organisation highest risk point and in 2026 it’s becoming a regulatory consideration too.Â
Over this four part webinar series we will be joined by guest speakers as we explore what operational and IT convergence really means for all industries, not just manufacturing and CNI; how it will be impacted by the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill and what blueprint all organisations can follow to gain resilience across their environment.
Threat actors try to stay within a network undetected for as long as possible to move as laterally as they can before execution, causing the most pain possible on their victim. But with the correct detection in place, this behaviour CAN be detected.
In this episode we’ll be covering:
- Gaining full OT telemetry without overwhelming analysts: What can we monitor and is it work it?
- Turning OT alerts into “Protocol-Aware Detection”, what this means and why it’s a must have in 2026
- Requirements of NIS2 and the Cyber Security Resilience Bill on OT detection
- Integrating threat intelligence into detection rules for optimum defence
By the end of this episode you’ll be able understand what detection is required in your organisation to confidently answer: “If someone is in our OT environment today, how would we know?”
Guest Speaker:
-
Ian Henderson:Â Former Vice President OT Security at BP, A member of the Chartered Institute of Information Security, Ian has broad experience in control systems as well as IT Security. Ian is the former Vice President of Automation System Security in BP where he led multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and information security professionals.

Funding Mini Masterclass: How To Unlock Grants, Bids & Procurement in 2026
Exclusive to the ScotlandIS community, Ailsa (www.ailsa.io) is hosting a practical mini masterclass on how to access Scottish and UK grant funding, prize competitions, procurement opportunities, tenders and bids – tailored for tech startups and small businesses, from very early-stage ideas through to more established ventures.
Ailsa’s team are funding experts, having secured over £500 million in non-dilutive funding for businesses like yours. That hard-won insight now underpins Ailsa: an AI-powered platform designed to get you the grants you deserve.
Designed to demystify how non-dilutive funding really works, this session cuts through the noise to explain what’s realistic at different stages of growth, how grants and bids sit alongside revenue, angel and venture investment, and how to make informed decisions without draining time or momentum.
This 30-min webinar – the first in a planned series running throughout 2026 – lifts the lid on how founders and innovators can assess fit, understand trade-offs, and confidently navigate funding routes that genuinely support the long-term health of their business.
Whether you’re still shaping an idea or actively trading and planning for growth, the emphasis is on clear thinking, practical insight and actionable next steps – you’re not going to want to miss this!
Ailsa’s team will cover:
– What grants, prizes, procurement and tenders/bids are – and what they aren’t
– How non-dilutive funding fits into a typical startup capital stack- What stage your business needs to be at for different opportunities, and what “funding ready” really means
– How to interpret eligibility criteria, and the critical difference between being eligible and being competitive
–Â How to find relevant Scottish and UK opportunities without drowning in portals, alerts and mailing lists
– When not to apply for funding – and what to do instead
Format
Attendees are invited to submit questions in advance, which will help shape the agenda and ensure the session focuses on what’s most valuable. The webinar is practical and discussion-led, with a 30-minute presentation followed by a 15-minute Q&A. There will also be opportunities for targeted, sector-specific and 1:1 funding clinics with the Ailsa team following the session.

In REVEAL we’ve mapped out our assets and got full asset visibility, in DETECT we’ve set up our detection rules and we now understand what our “normal” looks like. But is this enough?
No.
Now we need to understand what to do in RESPONSE to detected malicious activity.
In this episode we’ll cover:
- The difficulties of OT response planning
- What NIS2 and The Cyber Security Resilience Bill demands of response plans
- How to conduct an effective table top exercise for OT environments
We’ll be joined by Simon Hodgkinson, former global CISO of BP and the NHS, who brings rare, real-world perspective on the practical realities of governing cyber risk in complex, high-consequence environments. Simon will share what boards and regulators expect to see, where resilience programmes typically fail, and how to design OT security that stands up under pressure.
If you’re concerned that you can’t answer the question: “How quickly can we contain an attack and can we prove we did the right things fast enough?” then this episode is for you.

Over the past two to three years, supply chain (SC) risk has shifted from an emerging to current risk.
Supply chain risk encompasses a wide range of factors, including economic uncertainty, political instability, natural disasters, and supplier failures. However, today we will be exploring one pressing threat: cyber risk within your supply chain.
An attack on your supply chain can cause significant impact to your ability to operate if they are unable to provide products, systems, and services. Equally as damaging is a cybercriminal launching a cyberattack against you through your supply chain.
Identifying these risks can be challenging, as supply chains are often large, complex, and interconnected. Threats can emerge at any point and take many forms, whether they are inherent, introduced, or exploited by cybercriminals looking for vulnerabilities.
Learn:
- What is Supply Chain Risk & Types of Risk (Inherent/Introduced/Exploited)
- Exploited Risk
- Human Risk
- Role of email
- SC Risk Management

This live simulation will put you in the shoes of key decision makers during a high-pressure cyber incident. You’ll experience the critical decisions security leaders must make when a cyberattack strikes—and discover how prepared your organisation truly is.
When seconds count, resilience wins. Don’t wait for a real attack to test your defences.

Join our new series of events, ScotlandIS Tech Tidbits, on the first Tuesday of every month!
These 30 minute webinars will be short, informative sessions on a variety of topics, from exporting to cybersecurity, cloud computing to procurement, and many more.
Each event will feature a ScotlandIS member offering their expert insights and advice on the topic in hand, however you do not need to be a member to attend these talks.
For this third extra webinar in February to mark Cyber Scotland Week 2026, we’ll be joined by guest speaker Cian Heasley, Principle Consultant and Threat Function Lead at Acumen Cyber.
This presentation will walk through the steps that a typical organisation with limited security resources could take to integrate threat intelligence and knowledge of the threat landscape for their industry sector into operational and strategic security planning.
The focus will be on practical examples that attendees can take away and adapt for their own organisations – book your place to join us in February.
