ScotlandIS Member Spotlight: AMS Consulting

In this Member Spotlight we hear from new member, AMS Consulting, on their passion to share what they know and empower client’s to take control of their organisation’s security posture.

Who is AMS Consulting and what do you do?

Access Management Solutions Consulting Ltd (AMS Consulting) is a specialist cybersecurity consultancy based in Glasgow, Scotland. We focus on simplifying Privileged Access Management (PAM), Identity and Access Management (IAM), and Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) for organizations of all sizes. Our mission is to demystify PAM, making it accessible and actionable for clients through people-led processes and best-in-class technology. We have deep expertise in leading PAM platforms, including Delinea, BeyondTrust and IBM Verify Privilege, and serve a diverse client base from global enterprises to SMEs.

Tell us something unique or interesting about your organisation.

One thing that really sets us apart is the depth of experience within our team—we’ve got nearly a century of combined expertise in the field. Some of our consultants have even held VP-level roles at leading PAM vendors, so we bring a real-world, insider perspective to every project. This breadth of experience means we’re not just ticking boxes; we’re able to translate complex security concepts into practical, reusable processes that genuinely empower our clients to take control of their privileged access landscape. We’re passionate about sharing what we know and making sure every solution is tailored to the client, not just off-the-shelf.

What is your biggest achievement as an organisation?

Our biggest achievements have been helping organisations—both large and small—improve their identity security posture. We take pride in working closely with clients to develop strategies and roadmaps that genuinely suit their needs, rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions. It’s especially rewarding when we’re able to support organisations after a breach, guiding them through recovery and helping to define their journey towards a stronger, more resilient identity security posture. Seeing our clients regain confidence and build lasting improvements in their security is what motivates us every day.

What prompted you to become a member of ScotlandIS?

Joining ScotlandIS just felt like the right move for us. We wanted to be part of Scotland’s buzzing tech community, meet other people who care about cybersecurity, and share what we’ve learned along the way. ScotlandIS seemed like the perfect place to swap ideas, learn from others, and get involved in events that actually matter to our industry. Plus, it’s a great way to keep our finger on the pulse of what’s happening in tech across Scotland. We’re excited to connect, collaborate, and hopefully make a positive impact together.

What do you see as the main challenges for the tech industry in the UK and Scotland?

The tech industry faces several key challenges:

  • Evolving cyber threats, especially identity-based attacks
  • Balancing security and usability in IAM and PAM solutions
  • Skills shortages in specialised  cybersecurity areas such as identity
  • Managing secure remote access across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments
  • Keeping pace with regulatory compliance requirements
