In this Member Spotlight we hear from new Startup member, SJ Cyber Aware, on joining ScotlandIS to network and connect with our thriving tech scene, and the common challenges for small businesses around securing funding and skilled talent.
Who is SJ Cyber Aware and what do you do?
SJ Cyber Aware helps businesses build true cyber resilience with its five-step program, designed to tackle risks, strengthen defences, and ensure seamless operations even in the face of cyber incidents.
Tell us something unique or interesting about your organisation.
SJ Cyber Aware takes a fresh approach to cyber resilience by tailoring its solutions to each business. It understands that no two companies are alike, so instead of offering one-size-fits-all security, it creates customized strategies based on specific risks and needs. Whether it’s improving cybersecurity policies, protecting data, or training staff, its flexible approach ensures businesses get the right support to stay secure.
What is your biggest achievement as an organisation?
Working with my first client.
What prompted you to become a member of ScotlandIS?
ScotlandIS plays a major role in Scotland’s digital and tech scene, helping businesses connect, innovate, and grow. Joining will give me access to networking events, industry updates, and a chance to be part of the country’s tech community.
What do you see as the main challenges for the tech industry in the UK and Scotland?
The UK and Scotland’s tech industries are growing but face key challenges such as securing funding, finding skilled talent, competing globally, and adapting to emerging technologies like AI. More so in Scotland, the Scottish Government and the high taxes they impose on don’t help!
