The Department for Business and Trade team is reaching out to services firms in Scotland that will benefit from an enhanced UK-Switzerland Free Trade Agreement.
If you’re not already aware, negotiations with Switzerland have the potential to deliver a raft of economic benefits and growth, strengthening ties in services with the world’s most innovative country.
A key aim of talks is locking in and growing access to the Swiss market, helping reduce potential risks on doing business, and present new opportunities in Switzerland for UK firms. Given most services trade is now digital we are also working to ensure data can flow freely between our countries, making doing business remotely from the UK simple and smooth. In addition, we are focussed on bringing long-term certainty on current temporary business travel arrangements, making it easier to hop on a plane to Zurich to nail that contract or work in Swiss offices.
As DBT gets closer to finalising a deal, we are reaching out to companies that stand to benefit from this work and the huge amount of certainty we aim to deliver. We want to showcase firms like yourselves in promotional material and media, using case studies, videos and quotes to explain in practice what an FTA means for the county.
If you are interested in hearing more about the FTA and potential comms opportunities, please reach out to nathan.rodgers@businessandtrade.gov.uk.
