Women in Cyber Survey

We’re inviting you to contribute to a research project, funded by The Scottish Government, which is focused on understanding the landscape for women in cyber in Scotland – what’s working well, where the gaps are, and where change is most needed.

Your response to this brief survey will be invaluable in helping to inform their thinking on how best to support the development of women in the cyber security profession across the Scottish cyber eco-system.

Despite growing demand for cyber skills, women remain under-represented across the sector. This survey is about moving beyond assumptions and anecdotes, and instead gathering real insight from real experiences — whether you’re already working in cyber, moving into the sector, studying, returning to work, or simply exploring your options.

Your responses will help us:

  • Build a clearer picture of current activity, networks and support available across Scotland
  • Identify barriers to entry and progression that women experience in practice
  • Understand where training, funding and opportunities are most effective — and where they fall short
  • Inform future programmes, policy discussions and targeted interventions that genuinely reflect need

The survey should take around 10–15 minutes to complete. All responses will be treated with care and used in aggregate to inform insight and action.

By taking part, you’re helping to shape a stronger, more inclusive cyber ecosystem in Scotland — one that attracts, supports and retains diverse talent at every stage.
