Scotland’s Biggest Parents’ Events are a series of four broadcasts running throughout the summer, which will allow parents, carers, guardians and young people to hear about the things that matter to them right now.

These events – brought to you by the DYW Scotland Network – provide information about options and pathways for young people, including where you can go to make informed judgements to support your young person’s next steps.

With input from a range of experts covering topics such as exams, mental health, apprenticeships, skills development and pathways into industry, the events aim to provide a message of reassurance and optimism to parents, carers and young people at this challenging time.

Event 4 – Pathways to Priority Industries

This event, delivered in partnership with Skills Development Scotland, will be particularly beneficial to parents and carers whose young people have just left school. However, the events aren’t just for parents – we absolutely encourage young people to sign up and join the event as well!

The final event, in the series of four, will take place on Tuesday 15th September, 7:00pm – 7:30pm and provides an opportunity to learn about Scotland’s predicted employment by key sector. You will hear from a range of industry experts about the types of jobs and skills that are in demand. This information is to help support young people to make informed choices for their own career pathways.
