Event Details

Nowadays sustainability is on the agenda for many businesses; some of those recognise it as a core value, other are still finding their way.

Having a sustainability strategy in place can help businesses to:

– Boost innovation

– Attract talent

– Attract clients

– Reduce costs

At our May clubs we will hear from organisations who have put sustainability at the core of what they do. We will discover how these practices helped them to grow, attract talent and clients, reduce costs and bring more innovation into their organisations. Experts in sustainability will also join us to signpost to resources and tools to help you start your own sustainability plans.

Victoria Erasmus, Director, Glen Mhor Hotel & Apartments
Victoria is the director and owner of the Glen Mhor Hotel in Inverness and hotels, bars and restaurants around Scotland.  A strong business development professional and serial entrepreneur who has invested heavily in sustainable tourism and practices.  The Glen Mhor is proud to be leading the way with the building of a Geothermal Energy Centre which will supply all the hot water heating and water to the Glen Mhor, allowing the removal of gas and will be the first of its kind in Scotland.  Victoria is also the founder of The South African Children’s Charitable Trust which supports both vulnerable and orphaned children in South Africa.

Keith Masson, Head of Net Zero Transition, Highlands and Islands Enterprise
Keith recently took up the new post of Head of Net Zero Transition at HIE, and leads on both the corporate approach to net zero as well as developing tools, products and services to assist the business sector across the Highlands & Islands transition to a low carbon future.  In the years prior to joining HIE, he led on climate change and energy for the Highland Council, and developed a variety of projects to reduce costs and emissions from business travel, the installation of renewables across the estate and development of a place-based, regional approach to climate change adaptation.

Get ready to discuss with your peers about what sustainability means to you and to your organisation and share what actions you are taking or even thinking of taking towards reducing your carbon footprint. Wherever you are in your sustainability journey this event is for you.

The event is interactive with group discussion, Q&A and networking opportunity.
