Freda Newton, MBE, is the owner and managing director of leading cruise tour experience Loch Ness by Jacobite, a VisitScotland 5-star tour since 2005. For over 40 years, Loch Ness by Jacobite has provided boat tours of the world-famous Loch Ness to visitors from around the world, now attracting 325,000 people each year.
Under the leadership of Freda Newton, MBE, since 2002, the business has diversified with the opening of a restaurant and retail offering at An Talla in 2019 and holiday cottages in 2021.
Highlights of Freda’s career include:

• Awarded MBE for services to Economic and Community Development in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, 2017.
• Received the Silver Thistle award at the Scottish Thistle Awards 2017 for her pivotal role in the region’s tourism industry.
• Presented with the SCDI Highlands & Islands Chair’s Award for Outstanding Business Achievement, 2017.
• Appointed as a Non-Executive Director Highlands & Islands Enterprise September, 2018.
