With everything that’s happened it’s going to be slightly different this year, we’ll be hosting CmdR ScotSoft2020 virtually for one and there won’t be a big dinner – but we’re still bringing you everything and more you expect from the day.
We’ve got great speakers covering a huge range of topics from Digital Director for Scottish Government, Colin Cook, opening the day alongside Rik Ferguson VP Security Research at Trend Micro, to Janet Onyia from Accenture discussing how diverse workforces make for better businesses and Brian Baglow from Scottish Games Network will tell you how applied gaming and gamification can help your business and your software.
For those looking for a more technical angle we’ve got Christian Heilmann, Java specialist and Principle Program Manager for Browser Tools at Microsoft. He’ll be talking about how tooling can make better developers and giving a few tips and tricks on how to avoid making obvious mistakes and to play a part in the next generation of tools for developers.
Alyssa Miller, hacker, security advocate and cyber professional will talk to you about an alternative approach to threat modelling and how to implement this backlog-based approach in any development paradigm and demonstrate that it can be done without affecting our development timelines.
You’ll also hear from Mozilla Ambassador Mark Goodwin, Chris Yule, Director at SecureWorks, Andrew Harmel-Law from ThoughtWorks, AI Ethicist Oliva Gambelin and many more. You can see our full agenda, speaker list and sign up here.
Throughout the day we’ll also be announcing the winners of our Digital Technology Awards, celebrating the great work in product, service, leadership and innovation that’s here in Scotland.
We’ll close the day with a very special presentation for our Young Software Engineer of the Year prize winners, it won’t be the same as usual but we want industry to get behind the next generation of talent, hear more about their projects and congratulate them as they always do for the fantastic projects they’ve produced.
