Can you give us a little background on your company please?
Be-IT are a specialist technology and digital staffing firm that specialise in the supply of permanent and contract staffing solutions and managed teams / services to both the private and public sectors across the UK.
Tell us about a business challenge you have faced (new product designed/client challenge/etc)?
There are continual business challenges… but most recent / notable would be the recent changes to IR35 – Off Payroll workers within the Public Sector. With 5 managed teams operating within public sector clients this had the potential to be a major business issue to both Be-IT and our clients impacting how our teams deploy services in the future.
What was your solution?
Our solution was to comply fully with all legislative changes and reduce the negative impact to our clients and associates. Central to this was the education of our clients / candidates on what the legislative changes mean and get agreement to deploy a new operating model which focused on changing working practices between all parties, the implementation of deliverable / outcome contracts rather than T&M arrangements with BE-IT taking full responsibility for the delivery of managed outcomes – similar to many SI service providers.
