Brightsolid, the hybrid cloud managed services company, has launched a new professional services practice. Conceived before the coronavirus crisis hit, the practice has been designed and launched now to advise organisations on how they can utilise cloud computing to not only navigate the current economic environment, but also consider how they can futureproof for financial recovery once the crisis ends.
Led by Brightsolid CTO, Jon Gasparini, the practice will work closely with organisations in all sectors across Scotland to consider how they can benefit from digital transformation and where technology can help them to overcome current economic challenges.
As the cloud market continues to grow quickly and, in some cases, become more complex, Brightsolid has observed that conversations with their customers have evolved at pace. The company has seen conversations shift from addressing a specific technology need, to those same organisations seeking a strategic partner who can evaluate their entire IT environment, provide advice on the areas that need to change or remain the same, and who can then support them throughout that process to achieve maximum organisational benefit.
Brightsolid will use its 25-years of experience to work closely with its customers to consult on how they can push the boundaries of their existing systems to create the agile, innovative and resilient technology environments that many have been craving and know that they need in order to implement change.
During recent months, organisations have seen the value hybrid and public cloud models can bring to their business. The Covid-19 crisis meant organisations had to provide their entire workforce with remote working capabilities overnight or significantly upscale their digital footprint to ensure they could continue trading as the country entered lockdown. The cloud has played a significant role in quickly providing the extra bandwidth needed. As lockdown is steadily lifted, organisations must now consider whether their current IT systems are fit-for-purpose, and whether they could cope with a similar crisis in future. According to Flexera’s 2020 State of the Cloud report, 57% of organisations surveyed plan to increase their cloud usage due to Covid-19.

The development by the Dundee-based company follows the broadening of Brightsolid’s go-to-market strategy in late 2019 where it extended its capabilities beyond colocation to provide hybrid cloud managed services. More recently, Brightsolid has extended its partnership with AWS to offer public cloud services and launched its Cloud Foundations service. The company’s Professional Services practice will take all of this into consideration to ensure customers can benefit from a comprehensive service offering.
As part of Brightsolid’s Professional Services offering, the company will develop packages to support organisations in their journey to the cloud as well as establishing a series of webinars for organisations to participate in.
