This webinar will reveal:
- Why Ransomware is resurging in 2026
- How AI is accelerating and evolving cyberattacks
- The latest data from 6 billion monthly emails revealing massive spikes in malware
- How CISOs are adopting “resilience, not perfection” as the new defence standard
The webinar will feature two key industry figures: Jake Moore, cybersecurity expert, industry commentator, and Global Cybersecurity Advisor for ESET, one of Europe’s pioneering cybersecurity companies. He will share insights on today’s evolving Ransomware threat, along with exclusive, data-driven findings, offering both detailed technical analysis and real-world perspectives.
Dr Yvonne Bernard, CTO of Hornetsecurity, the global provider of next-generation cloud-based security, compliance, backup, and security awareness solutions. With a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Dr Bernard has a deep technical background and will bring her own unique vision to the session.

Operational Technology is quickly becoming an organisation highest risk point and in 2026 it’s becoming a regulatory consideration too.
Over this four part webinar series we will be joined by guest speakers as we explore what operational and IT convergence really means for all industries, not just manufacturing and CNI; how it will be impacted by the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill and what blueprint all organisations can follow to gain resilience across their environment.
In REVEAL we’ve mapped out our assets and got full asset visibility, in DETECT we’ve set up our detection rules and we now understand what our “normal” looks like. But is this enough?
No.
Now we need to understand what to do in RESPONSE to detected malicious activity.
In this episode we’ll cover:
- The difficulties of OT response planning
- What NIS2 and The Cyber Security Resilience Bill demands of response plans
- How to conduct an effective table top exercise for OT environments
We’ll be joined by Simon Hodgkinson, former global CISO of BP and the NHS, who brings rare, real-world perspective on the practical realities of governing cyber risk in complex, high-consequence environments. Simon will share what boards and regulators expect to see, where resilience programmes typically fail, and how to design OT security that stands up under pressure.
If you’re concerned that you can’t answer the question: “How quickly can we contain an attack and can we prove we did the right things fast enough?” then this episode is for you.

Join our new series of events, ScotlandIS Tech Tidbits, on the first Tuesday of every month!
These 30 minute webinars will be short, informative sessions on a variety of topics, from exporting to cybersecurity, cloud computing to procurement, and many more.
Each event will feature a ScotlandIS member offering their expert insights and advice on the topic in hand, however you do not need to be a member to attend these talks.
For this extra webinar in February to mark Cyber Scotland Week 2026, we’ll be joined by guest speaker Debra Cairns, Managing Director of Net-Defence.
Over the past two to three years, supply chain (SC) risk has shifted from an emerging to current risk.
Supply chain risk encompasses a wide range of factors, including economic uncertainty, political instability, natural disasters, and supplier failures. However, today we will be exploring one pressing threat: cyber risk within your supply chain.
An attack on your supply chain can cause significant impact to your ability to operate if they are unable to provide products, systems, and services. Equally as damaging is a cybercriminal launching a cyberattack against you through your supply chain.
Identifying these risks can be challenging, as supply chains are often large, complex, and interconnected. Threats can emerge at any point and take many forms, whether they are inherent, introduced, or exploited by cybercriminals looking for vulnerabilities.
Learn:
- What is Supply Chain Risk & Types of Risk (Inherent/Introduced/Exploited)
- Exploited Risk
- Human Risk
- Role of email
- SC Risk Management

Operational Technology is quickly becoming an organisation highest risk point and in 2026 it’s becoming a regulatory consideration too.
Over this four part webinar series we will be joined by guest speakers as we explore what operational and IT convergence really means for all industries, not just manufacturing and CNI; how it will be impacted by the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill and what blueprint all organisations can follow to gain resilience across their environment.
Throughout this series we’ve covered:
- Assets discoverability and visibility (episode 1)
- Threat detection and integrating threat intelligence (episode 2)
- Incident response and meeting regulatory compliance (episode 3)
And in this episode we’ll look at bringing all of these elements together, connecting Operational Technology (OT) monitoring with IT monitoring to create a single view of full network activity.
In this episode we’ll cover:
- Why OT/IT connected monitoring is a must for any organisation in 2026
- How to effectively integrate IT and OT detection monitoring into a single Security Operations Centre (SOC)
- When this needs to be in place to be complaint with the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill
Featuring John Ballentine (Government Advisor; Head of OT Cyber Security, New Jersey Port Authority), you’ll hear the real-world “art of the possible” for complex operational organisations and how to move from fragmentation to a connected security operating model.

Event Details
Attackers move fast and their techniques are more sophisticated than ever, especially with AI in their toolkit. But when the alerts hit, how does your team actually perform under real pressure?
HTB Threat Range was built to measure and strengthen that readiness.
It’s a team-based blue team simulation environment that exposes SOC and DFIR teams to realistic attack scenarios, so leaders can see how their teams perform when it matters most.
Hack The Box invites you and your team to a game night for blue teamers. A simulated cyberattack will unfold inside HTB Threat Range, where teams must detect, investigate, and respond in real time, while you observe investigation speed, team collaboration, decision-making, escalation paths, and operational resilience in action.
How the game works?
Our experts set the stage in HTB Threat Range, launching a realistic attack scenario and playing alongside you as it unfolds.
They guide the action, escalate events, and throw curveballs—inviting you to jump in, take on roles, make decisions, and play your part in containing the breach.
What you’ll walk away with?
- Develop detection and investigation skills through realistic attack scenarios, complete with alerts, logs, network traffic, and forensic artifacts.
- Benchmark team skills using key metrics such as MTTD, MTTI, and MTTR.
- Strengthen collaboration across SOC, Digital Forensics, and Incident Response through team-based roleplay.
- Identify gaps in detection, response, and coordination and turn those insights into a proactive response strategy.
Who should attend?
- CISOs and Deputy CISOs
- Heads of SOC and SOC Managers
- Blue Team Leaders
- Incident Response and DFIR Leaders
We strongly encourage you to bring your team.
The evening schedule:
- 17:30-18:00: Registration & welcome drinks
- 18:00-18:30: Mission briefing: Inside HTB Threat Range
- 18:30-19:30: Live operation: HTB Threat Range simulation

These 30 minute webinars will be short, informative sessions on a variety of topics, from exporting to cybersecurity, cloud computing to procurement, and many more.
Each event will feature a ScotlandIS member offering their expert insights and advice on the topic in hand, however you do not need to be a member to attend these talks.
For May, we’ll be joined by ScotlandIS member Phoenix and their partner, N-able.
In this session, N‑able will walk you through a real attack scenario drawn directly from recent frontline experiences. We’ll then tie the scenario to today’s threat landscape—where phishing, credential theft, and AI‑generated social engineering continue to target individuals directly. Finally, we explore how AI is transforming the SOC, helping IT teams better protect users, detect malicious behaviour sooner and accelerate a response through best practices and tools.
Here’s what we’ll cover in this session:
1. Attacks Start with a User: Most breaches begin with a human moment and why recognising early warning signs is crucial
2. Today’s Threats Are Faster and Smarter: Phishing, identity attacks, and AI‑driven impersonation have grown by 50% in 2025 according to the NCSC
3. AI Strengthens Defences: AI‑powered detection, analysis, and response help security teams act faster, cut through noise and offer organisations a strong return on investment in their security operations
